Features
As a type of sodium metaphosphate polimer, the SHMP is in the shape of transparent flake or white powder. It tends to absorb more moisture and easy to be solvent in air and water. It has a high solubility in water with a low dissolution speed. With acid solution, It leads to the formation of phosphate. It is used as a water softener as it can generate clathrate with metal ion such as calcium or magnesium in the water. It can also generate complexation with lead, silver, barium salt, etc.
Application
It is widely used as high efficient softener in the cooling water processing in power station, machine, boiler, and fertilizer factory as well as detergent additives in fabric, dyeing and bleaching industry. It is also applied as corrosion proof and sedative pharmaceutical agent, cement hardening agent as well as purification agent of streptomycin. It is recommended in the food industry as preservative and stabilizer. The SHMP also finds application in the drill pipe rust protection and mud viscosity adjusting in oil drilling industry. Other applications include tanning, paper-making, colored film, soil analysis, radiation, and in analytical chemistry.
