Calcium bromide brine is a single salt (CaBr2 ) clear brine fluid, and it is a ready-to-use oilfield chemical. Our product is mainly used to formulate workover and completion fluids with densities of 8.4~14.2 pounds per gallon (1007~1702kg/m3).
Typical PropertyAppearance | Clear colorless liquid |
Assay (%) | 52.0 Min. |
Specific gravity at 25°C | 1.70 Min. |
PH of 5% DI water | 6.0-8.0 |
Crystallization temperature (°C) | -12 |
Application
The liquid calcium bromide avoids hydration and migration of expansive clay, and it has found other applications aside from this. For example, it could regulate the density of other brine system, or work as packer fluids, or as the aqueous phase of invert emulsion fluid system.
Safety and Handling
For safety considerations, personal protective equipment is highly recommended and actually it is a must. Before work, please refer to precautions illustrated in the MSDS.
Packaging and Storage
Calcium bromide brine is packed in 55USG HDPE drum or 1000L IBC (intermediate bulk container).
The drums or containers should be closed, and then placed at a dry, well-ventilated area that is away from heat, sparks, flames and incompatible materials. For palletizing, banding, shrink-wrapping and stacking operations, please follow safe warehousing practices.
